We built a small gathering space in Marlboro, Vermont. We also utilize various spaces in southern Vermont, offer on-line gatherings, and host retreats farther afield.

Who We Are
Word House LLC was founded by Robin MacArthur in 2018. We are in the process of expanding our breadth, offerings and vision. Thanks for being a part of this emerging project!
Founder/Director: Robin MacArthur is the author of two books of fiction (HALF WILD and HEART SPRING MOUNTAIN) and is the editor of CONTEMPORARY VERMONT FICTION. Her work has been translated into French, has won the PEN NEW ENGLAND award for fiction, has twice been a finalist for the New England Book Award, and has appeared in many journals and newspapers. She currently teaches at Vermont College of Fine Arts’ MFA in Writing, and Orion Magazine. Robin has lived most of her life in southern Vermont.
Advisors & Facilitators:
Miciah Bay Gault. Miciah’s debut novel Goodnight Stranger is forthcoming with HarperCollins in 2019. Her fiction and essays have appeared in Tin House, The Sun, Agni, The Southern Review, The Literary Review, and in the anthology Contemporary Vermont Fiction. Miciah was the editor of Hunger Mountain at Vermont College of Fine Arts for nine years, and she now coordinates the Vermont Book Award and teaches in VCFA’s MFA in Writing & Publishing program. She lives in Montpelier with her husband and three children.
Desmond Peeples. Desmond Peeples‘ writing has appeared in Five [Quarterly], Big Bridge, Goreyesque, and elsewhere, and they are the founding editor of Mount Island. Desmond was born and lives still in Vermont, and they are an MFA candidate at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
